Jesus speaks the words in Matthew 10:29-31 to his disciples following a warning that they would face persecution for his name. We must understand that as followers of Christ we too will be called to face persecution and hardships, however his promise is that "even the very hairs of [our] head are all numbered," (Matthew 10:29) and that not even one sparrow falls to the ground apart from the will of the father (Matthew 10:29,30). If our loving, heavenly father cares so much for his creation that he would tend even to these seemingly unimportant details, then how deep must his love and affection for us, his children be?
